Good overall performance for the start of year two of the Operational Improvement Plan

Quarterly Summary Statistics (QSS) on the Child Support Agency's performance have been published today. These statistics show the Agency has made a steady start to the 2007/08 year, improving in three out of the four key Secretary of State targets for 2007/08, and exceeding its 12-week throughout target from 2006/07.

DWP Minister Lord McKenzie said:

It is heartening to see the CSA's performance steadily improving this year, meaning that more children than ever before are benefiting from child maintenance payments, with the CSA collecting and arranging £906million over the last year for 660,000 children.

These improvements are a tribute to the hard work of the CSA's employees, but there is more to do to ensure that there is a robust platform in place for the Child Maintenance Enforcement Commission to build on when it is established next year.
