Parents who have avoided or missed paying child maintenance will normally be asked to repay the full amount owed immediately.
Payment Options
We will work to help Non Resident Parents (NRP) meet their financial responsibilities for their children. In some circumstances it may be possible to negotiate an agreement that will offer a suitable payment option to repay the arrears.
Further Action
If we are unable to come to a suitable agreement, we will consider enforcement action which could include Deduction from Earnings Orders (DEO) or pursue recovery through the Courts by applying for a Liability Order.
